This training explores the history of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), from institutionalization to the pursuit of inclusion, autonomy, and dignity. We’ll examine key moments in U.S. history, with a special focus on Colorado’s role in shaping change. While confronting difficult truths, we will also highlight the resilience of advocates and the progress made through legislation and grassroots efforts.
